Beauty Tips for an Oily Face
Sebum is natural oil produced by the glands to prevent the skin from becoming dry. This natural oil is secreted as a result of hormonal changes which is very common during puberty. It is a normal occurrence but excessive production of sebum may result to a shiny and oily skin. As a consequence, acne may develop. Therefore, it is vital that you learn several tips on managing an oily skin or how to prevent it.

Tip 1: Wash You Face
Washing the face may help in getting rid of surplus oil but excessive washing may cause the face to become dry. Using strong soaps, too much exfoliation and rinsing with hot water may also contribute to dryness. The use of alcohol pads also gives the same result. Once this happens, oil glands will make up for dryness thus secreting more sebum. So if you really want to control the oil on your face, wash with mild soap or cleanser and rinse with lukewarm water every morning and every night. Moreover, limit exfoliation to just once a week.
Tip 2: Use Moisturizer
Moisturizer is necessary to prevent the skin from becoming dry. Even people with oily skin need a moisturizer. Yes, you read it right. But wouldn’t a moisturizer just make your face oilier? All you need to do is to purchase the right moisturizer which is water-based and oil-free. You may opt for a product which has oatmeal since this will brighten and soothe the skin without the risk of dehydration. Free Beauty Tips website also recommends applying moisturizer with alpha lipoic acid which reduces oil but only for a brief duration. Moisturizer should be included in your nightly regimen.
Tip 3: Choose the Right Makeup
Foundations, whether they come in the form of cream or compact powder, are commonly oil-based. Using them would worsen the greasy and shiny look of your skin. One option that you have is to use loose powder to control the oil on your face. Aside from that, loose powders also take off that shiny appearance. The good thing about loose powder is that you can apply it anytime of the day. However, if you want the coverage given by foundations, try finding a product that is oil-free and water based.
Tip 4: Putting on Makeup Tactically
Before applying foundation or makeup, use a blotting paper. This will help in absorbing excess oil from your face. Consequently, when you put on foundation, less oil will be at the base therefore your skin would not appear that shiny. Another technique that you can do is to apply shimmery makeup. This will enhance the natural shine of your skin making it attractive rather than problematic.
There is a lot of things you can do to control the oil on your face. Keep this tips in mind and you will no longer have to worry about having all that grease on your face. All you will have is a healthy looking skin.

5 Beauty Tips for Winter

As temperature drops, the health of your skin and hair may also experience a decline. Chilly breeze can cause your hair and skin to dry. As a result, the beauty regimen you have during summer may not be as effective on cold winter days. Therefore, you may have to revise your daily routine with use of products which will make your skin look healthy despite the freezing weather.
Tip 1: Keep Your Skin Moisturized
During winter, most household and offices turn on their various heating systems to keep people warm. However, as you enjoy the heat from whichever device that you use, at the same time your skin is losing its moisture. As a result, it becomes dry and flaky. To avoid this from happening, apply moisturizer on every part of your body after bathing. This will lock in moisture and prevent your skin from becoming dry. In addition, choosing a moisturizer with antioxidants is a good option since it will prevent skin damage brought about by winter sun. You may also put on a humidifier in the room to counteract the drying effect of the heating system.
Tip 2: Use Sunscreen
During winter, some people take the importance of sunscreen for granted. They do not use it because they think that the sun would not have an effect on their skin since the weather is cold. Little do they know that winter sun and snow glare have damaging effects on the skin. It is recommended that you apply sunscreen of at least SPF15 about 30 minutes before going out. Meanwhile, if you do want to go for skiing, then use sunscreen SPF 20 or above. This is because the higher the altitude, the more intense is the effect of the ultraviolet rays. You may opt for sunscreen which includes aloe vera or coconut oil as ingredient. This will not only keep your skin protected from the sun but will moisturize it as well.
Tip 3: Choose the Right Makeup
The makeup which enhances you features during summer may not work as effectively during winter. Because some combinations of makeup which are acceptable during summer may make you appear pale and dreary during winter.  A darker shade of bronzer will help neutralize a fair skin. This will also give a glowing skin effect. Meanwhile, a rosy colored blush gives of a healthy flushed appearance. Eye shadows which come in the shade of taupe, champagne or nude with shimmering effect mixed with a bit of brown tone can brighten up your eyes.
Tip 4: Proper Hair Care
During a chilly weather, your hair appears dry, brittle, frizzy and dull. If your hair is frizzy, apply hair serum in the areas which need taming. You may also squirt a bit of hairspray on your hairbrush then use it on your hair to soothe the frizz. If you hair appears dry and lifeless, use a shampoo with moisturizer. Do not use hairdryer, instead towel-dry or air-dry your hair.
Tip 5: Maintain a Moisturized Lips
Cold days cause your lips to become flaky, chapped or dry. Therefore, you should always have a lip balm on-hand. Purchase lip balms with SPF 15 and moisturizing ingredients such as vitamin E, aloe, beeswax and shea butter. Instead of using matte lipsticks that are long-lasting, opt for tinted lip gloss.
Caring for the skin during winter is a must to keep that healthy glow of your skin. Remember that you should always have different skin regimen for winter and for summer.

True beauty is a reflection  on the ‘glow of the skin’ and with little presence of wrinkles, acne, sagging of the skin/facial muscles and  skin pigmentation .A ‘gorgeous person ‘ will have shinning eyes surrounded by a clear aura around her that depicts calmness and yet in control of her/himself…. And this is contributed by a balanced state of mind, body and spirit.

Balanced Hormones

Your skin and even the shine in your eyes thrive on balanced hormones (estrogen, cortisol ,  growth hormones) .Perhaps .. the eyes are the windows of your soul…. May hold  some truth afterall . With the right hormone balance, you will notice that your biological skin will also look even 10 years younger and this is the changes that I see in my practice .

Vitamins and Diet

’Life nutrients’ (vitamins ,minerals and anti-oxidants) from  fruits, vegetables, sprouted grains and protein will provide adequate essential building blocks for skin and internal body repair and healing. The 21st century diet is too refined and modified and we are eating a lot of foods that are devoid of nutrients. Hence, I coined the word “ urban malnutrition’  .You eat foods that are just fillers to your ‘hunger pangs’ and if this is continued ,the skin starts to age as it cannot keep up with the wear and tear of everyday living.

GUT imbalance

Your Gut includes the small and the large intestines .The small intestines helps to breakdown the food for better nutrient absorption to maintain cellular repair .The large intestines ensure that you excrete the waste by products of metabolism .If you are all the time feeling  bloated  ,there is a HUGE fermentation or putrefaction process that is happening in YOU .If you are having an irritated bowel, you will be prone to malnutrition and allergy. Do you know that constipation can indirectly result in facial acne?

Lifestyle

Sleeping late is a norm in this 21st century due to different interests and demands in life. However, you fail to acknowledge the right of the human body to have adequate sleep .Sleeping at the right time with the right number of hours ensure that our growth hormones and melatonin are produced to assist in the body repair. Do you agree ?
